We all have a story, hidden somewhere between our ears. We know it's there because we recognise it in stories and songs and tales around us. Even if we don't live these stories ourselves, when someone lives just a part of our story, it resonates in us, somewhere between our rib cabge, our belly button and our backbone.
We each have a story in us. Some tell it in song, some in dance. Some whsper it in furtive expressions when they think noone's watching. Some drown it out with noise, some with silence. But we each have a story. It's just that sometimes some people's are louder than others'.

Fluey
I've got the flu for the first time in my life, and it's an interesting experience.
Who am I kidding? The only thing interesting about having the flu is wondering what's going to happen next - sneeze, yawn or run out of tissues.
My eyes feel like lead magnets. Heavy, destined to stick together like a crowbar couldn't pry them apart. I feel like I haven't slept in a week. When I did sleep last night I dreamt about Dr Who and Star Trek and yet somehow it was a boring dream.
Did you ever do that thing when you were a kid where you hold your finger milimetres from the bridge of your nose just to get that tingley feeling. I've got that permanently. It's partly because my nose is getting ready for one of those explosive sneezes that momentarily make my entire body contract and roll up like a giant slap band. It's partly because I'm wearing my glasses which I wouldn't normally be doing.
From time to time my eyes water inordinately. This makes me sneeze.
My neck aches as if it has been holding my head up for too long. Yet when I lie down I very slightly lose my sense of direction, i'm no longer quite sure which way's up or down and I get a tiny bit giddy, contributing to the tinglyness in my nose and ultimately making me sneeze, or at least reach for another tissue.
Periodically I feel like my bones are trying to shiver. Or grow hair.
When I blow my nose I honk like a road train. I've long come to terms with this.
I yawn as if i'm going to swallow myself inside out.
If my feet had an opposable digit they would be wringing themselves. As is they must content themselves with some strange wrestling match, periodically cracking my ankles.
I put some music in my ears and it made me sneeze. Twice. Full, heart-restarting, electric paddles, convulsion-inducing sneezes. I thought it was going to be three but the last one turned into a yawn and came dribbling out of my eyes. I've noticed my sneezes turning into yawns this evening, as if they're just mocking me and demonstrating their complete and total power over me.

I love an aussie summer
I love an Aussie summer like the sailor loves the sea.
Its endless shades of colour are a source of joy to me.
The many shades of brown against a constant blue
The nightly flame of sunset tinges all an orange hue
Although I see it a thousand times and a thousand times beside
In any other country I'll ne'er be satisfied
I love an Aussie summer like the sailor fears the sea
I respect her fiercest love and I love her ferocity
With scorching sun or relentless rain
With horrible heat or friendless flame
She drains me dry and saps my energy
Yet no other way would I quite have her be
I love an Aussie sky like the sailor loves the sea
The unflagging blues of summer I nowhere else have seen
On any given day a thousand emotions spark
At the sight I see above me from sunrise til after dark
With awe and fear and wonder, with dispair, distress and hope
The skies are nowhere bluer than when I am at home
Its endless shades of colour are a source of joy to me.
The many shades of brown against a constant blue

365 days
For the first time in my life
I wish I was a year ago
For the first time in my life
I wish I knew then
What I now know
A few things I would change
But the most i'd leave the same
I would just do them sooner
Rather than play a waiting game
I would make a phone call
On a particular night
I would stop at stop sign
On a dark wet night
Two regrets is pretty good
For 365 days
The past is so much clearer
And the future such a haze
For the first time in my life
I wish i was a year ago
For the first time in my life
I wish I knew then
What I now know
I wish I was a year ago
For the first time in my life

I know what I know
I know what I know
And I've seen what I've seen
But what I know and what i've seen
Are two different things
The things I've seen
Haven't always taught
Nor the things i've done
Or the things i ought
But at the end of the day
Can anything be said
We all live our lives
And wind up dead
Like the famous author
Of ecclesiastes
We all conclude
With our head on our knees
That there's nothing new
On earth under the sun
Yet each day must still dawn
And each battle must be won
And I've seen what I've seen
But what I know and what i've seen
Are two different things
The things I've seen
Haven't always taught
Nor the things i've done
Or the things i ought
But at the end of the day

Wall thoughts
I used to have this all written on a sheet on my wall. They're mostly lyrics from bands I love. Sometimes the right words ring true.
True words.
I'm inclined to ramble.
That's me on the street with the violin under my chin/playing with a grin/singing gibberish.
These days turned out nothing like I had planned.
I had time on my hands now I'm handling time.
Seeker of a new song.
But tomorrow I'll still be eating yoghurt.
Gotta find direction/before i lose hope.
Found a way to reach my heart/take it all back to the start of this/a million miles from home.
A voice of one calling.
The music in my head's making everything dance
And something in the song reminds me of you.
All the words ever written by the greatest authors, all the lyrics ever sung by singers will never serve to fill the dark space in your head where silence is the only coherent language.
Through all the fights I've conquered and beyond
The times have changed and I will now move over slowly
But through it all I still fill lost without you.
In the best possible way...
Life is good but sometimes you have to SCREAM anyway.
Savour the moment coz memory's fleeting.

I want good times: not cut out for pessimism.
